ARBEITE MIT, PLANE MIT, REGIERE MIT!

A research project of REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT

12 December 2004 to 6 February 2005

The project of the REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT for the Kasseler Kunstverein is a research project dealing with the changes in society’s values under the omen of global economization in all spheres of life.

The initial point of the exhibition is the mural “Project Planning” from 1965 made by the Dresden painter Erich Gerlach. In the context of this project it was retrieved from the dilapidated staff canteen of the former nationally owned company VEB Verpackungsmaschinenbau, Dresden. In the form of an installation on the floor with a mirror the work will be recycled and relationships to current topics established.

With this historical basing point the subject matter will be placed into current interrelations.

For this, a video interview with the art historian Wolfgang Ullrich will be shown. Moreover a video interview with Dr Ludwig Georg Braun, CEO of the B.Braun Melsungen AG, will be added.

Dr Braun will comment on questions such as, for example, how sharing expertise as a value can be incorporated into business principles, or, what specifications global competition requires from a company’s employees.

Another part of the exhibition is based on a workshop REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT held with nine employees of the B.Braun Melsungen AG. The participants were chosen from different hierarchical levels of the company. By the means of a visualization process, which based on the usage of photographies and icons, moral concepts were reinterpreted. In the exhibition, 45 picture modules resulting from the workshop can be seen.

The exhibition is conceived as a room for thought and reflexion serving a cognitive and an artistic process which is focused on perception. It is to be understood as a display of the documentation and open discussion. With its artistic realization and presentation of the research work at the Kasseler Kunstverein the project is, however, not concluded yet; moreover the discussion will be left open by additional events in the exhibition.
